Denna retrospektiva studie har som syfte att utvärdera effekten av en lösning bestående av salpetersyra, kopparnitrat, zinknitrat och bindemedel (Oxalic®), vid behandling av aurala plaque hos häst. Studien ämnar också jämföra och diskutera detta nya behandlingsalternativ i relation till den i litteraturen enda tidigare beskrivna behandlingen mot sjukdomen, 5 % imiquimodkräm (Aldara®). Journaler för åtta hästar som blivit kliniskt diagnosticerade och behandlade mot aurala plaque på UDS Hästkliniken i Uppsala samt på Hästkliniken Täby mellan 2011 och 2013 låg till grund för insamling av data. Djurägarna till alla de åtta hästarna hade sökt sig till specialistdermatologmottagningen på grund av att deras häst uppvisade tecken på smärta/irritation till följd av sina aurala plaque, vilket visade sig som öron- och huvudskygghet och gav svårigheter i den vardagliga hanteringen av hästen. Behandlingarna följdes upp på nytt genom telefonsamtal med djurägarna 12 till 28 månader efter sista behandling.

Detta examensarbete har utförts hos Dirac Research AB i Uppsala. Dirac Research är en världsledande programvaruspecialist inom ljudoptimering, rumskorrigering och ljudfältssyntes.Dirac har nu velat utreda hur man på bästa sätt kan använda deras programvara Dirac Live för att förbättra ljudet hos hörlurar. I examensarbetet ingick en teoretisk del om örat, hörlurar, mätmetoder och hur en frekvenskurva bör se ut. Det ingick också att mäta impulssvaret för några olika hörlurar. Impulssvaret användes sedan till att förbättra ljudet hos hörlurarna genom att designa digitala filter som användes genom programvaran Dirac Live.

Alzheimers sjukdom är en smygande neurodegenerativ demenssjukdom som främst drabbar äldre och som karakteriseras av uppkomsten av amyloidplack och neurofibriller i hjärnan. De vanligaste symptomen är demens, kognitiva problem, inbillningar och aggressivitet. Alzheimer förekommer i två olika former, presenil och senil alzheimer. Den fullständiga mekanismen bakom alzheimer är ännu okänd men två proteiner, beta-amyloid och tau, anses ligga bakom orsaken till alzheimer. Ett tredje inblandat protein som man funnit via genetisk analys är apolipoprotein E.

J.O. Mallander?s Extended Play (1968) is a sound recording, a readymade, of the counting of votes in two presidential elections in Finland, during 1962 and 1968. A voice repeats monotonously: ?Kekkonen, Kekkonen, Kekkonen, Kekkonen, Kekkonen?? Although the Finnish president Urho Kekkonen represents, almost personifies, the politics of the post World War II period in Finland, Extended Play does not explicitly address the political. Rather, as this essay argues, it engages in the discourses of power and politics by providing a temporalization of its fixedness, or what Jacques Derrida terms the proper.Extended Play is, in parallel with Derrida?s critique of western metaphysics, a deconstruction in sound that challenges the state ideologies conveyed in the process of the counting of votes, where the presuppositions of the presence of the voice characterizes the ambiguities of power that Kekkonen?s politics of neutrality represent.Mallander?s readymade emerges as a double of the game theory strategies of the Cold War, a mimetic surplus of the administrative control mechanisms of sound recording.

The purpose with this study was to systematically examine scientific studies of audiologic group rehabilitation. The definition of audiological rehabilitation was explored, different variables that influence the result and how the outcome measures should be done and its relationship with the goals of audiologic rehabilitation. The method used was a literature study. Pubmed and Cinahl were used for the search of literature. Some articles were searched from scientific studies reference lists and also advice from the supervisor.The result from the different studies shows that the effect of rehabilitation varies as there are many aspects that have an affect on the outcome measure.

The audiologists´ knowledge-domain is generally described as a unique combination of medical, technical, social and behavioural sciences. It gives prominence to the importance of an adequate education relating to the knowledge-demands the students´encounter during their trainee-period. However, an important question is if the educational content corresponds to the knowledge-demands during the training? Aim: This study aimed to identify the knowledge-demands of students during their trainee-period. Furthermore, to identify how the students´ actual knowledge was related to the encountered knowledge-demands.
